Sankt Petersburg coated in snow.

Artist Julia Grechkina Art journey in Saint Petersburg

Saint Petersburg is always beautiful. I lived here for 4 years and saw it in every way.

Puddles in January and severe cold in June.

I arrived now after complicated transfers because traveling to Russia is difficult now... But you have to if you have family and friends here; you can't change that.

Paradoxically, in my four years of living here, snowfall wasn't that frequent, and I never had the chance during a good snowfall to go to the city center and admire the majestic architecture powdered with fluffy snow. I really wanted to...

Nevsky prospect - Saint Petersburg main street

But now, I didn't even expect to be showered with such an impressive layer of snow in November, and now that this happened, I didn't miss the chance. The photos that help me create my images are in my phone, and, of course, I created several paintings after my walks, using those magical impressions you get while strolling along Nevsky Prospect, the Neva River, and the majestic city.

Garden of Catherine the Great

Saint Petersburg is always beautiful, but the most amazing time is the early twilight when the sky is painted with delicate reddish tones, giving the houses that remember so much the same pink hue.

This is my favorite time, not yet so dark, but the lanterns and streetlights are already flickering with their lights and also coloring the houses where once rich and influential people lived in different hues.

Public transport in Saint Petersburg

So much has happened in this city, both good and bad, and you can somehow feel it as you walk its streets.

And people just live, walk the streets, ride trolleybuses. There are so many of them in this city, and they love it too. Despite everything.
