I live in the Netherlands, a nation known for its seafaring heritage. Perhaps there's no other country where sailing is as prevalent and accessible. In every city, there's a yacht club.
Of course, there are luxurious yachts where people live almost like in a compact apartment, coming for weekends as if to a countryside retreat, enjoying wine and picnics, sometimes without even leaving the harbor.

But alongside this, you can rent a sailing boat for a reasonable price and cruise on a lake on a weekend.
Despite my fear of water, I went sailing a couple of times, and now I content myself by spending time in the harbor, capturing these charming boats through my artwork.

I love the atmosphere of mast sounds in the wind, people arriving and departing for a sail, and the wanderlust-filled travelers living on their boats, spending each night in a different country.
In general, boats are beautiful, romantic, evoking a sense of adventure, and they make a splendid subject for painting!
